Timers 3 and 5 (Type C Timers)
Type C Timers are very similar to Type A Timers except for a few exceptions:
- They can not operate in Asynchronous Counter Mode so the external clock input (TxCK) is always synchronized to the internal clock before the prescaler;
- They can be joined to the Type B Timers to implement 32-bit Timers. When they are joined, the Type B timer becomes the LSW while the Type C timer becomes the MSW. Timer 2 can be joined to Timer 3 while Timer 4 can be joined to Timer 5.
- At least one type C timer can trigger an ADC conversion.
- Timers 2 ans 3 can also trigger a DMA data transfer.
The same modes and control registers are available as for a type B timer.
Because of the similarity of type C timers to type A timers, no specific example code will be given.
